Description

Budawangs Bush-pea is a shrub that rarely grows to 1 m tall. Its small narrow leaves are crowded and warty and have a groove on their upper surface. The ‘egg and bacon’ orange and yellow pea-shaped flowers form dense clusters at the ends of branches.

Distribution

The species is known from a few sites in Morton and Budawang National Parks (Mt Currockbilly, Bhundoo Hill, Little Forest, Burrumbeet Brook and Corang Trig).

Habitat and ecology

  • Budawangs Bush-pea appears to prefer swampy heathland on sandstone.
  • Flowering is mainly in spring but has been observed in summer and autumn.
