Soft Grevillea grows to 1 – 3 m tall and wide, with an open-branching and sometimes weeping form. The branchlets are densely rusty-hairy. The soft wavy leaves are 3 – 10 cm long, often appearing ribbon-like. They are mid-green or yellow-green and hairy on the upper surface, and paler below with densely felted hairs. New leaves are pink. Clusters of six to twenty scarlet and softly hairy flowers are held at the ends of the branchlets, and may be produced at any time of year. The fruit is a dry capsule that splits and releases flat seeds.
