Description

Osteocarpum pentapterum is a hemispherical annual or short-lived perennial that grows to 20 cm in height.

Its leaves are semiterete, succulent and grow to 5 mm long.

Fruiting perianth are 6 mm in diameter. The wings (5) are equal, membranous, vertical and margin sinuate.

Distribution

Osteocarpum pentapterum is an uncommon species now presumed to be extinct in NSW. Its current distribution is throughout Queensland, South Australia and the Northern Territory.
