Habitat and ecology
- Grows in vine thickets and open shale woodland.
Regional distribution and habitat
Click on a region below to view detailed distribution, habitat and vegetation information.
Threats
- Small, isolated populations due to habitat fragmentation following urban development causing vulnerability to stochastic events and reduced reproduction and genetic exchange.
- Inappropriate fire regimes such as fire more than once every 10 years impacting habitat suitability and recruitment rates.
- African Lovegrass, African Olive and mixed garden weeds competing with the species.
Recovery strategies
A Saving Our Species conservation project is currently being developed for this species and will be available soon. For information on how you can contribute to this species' recovery, see the Activities to assist this species section below.
Activities to assist this species
- Manage existing sites to prevent stochastic events threatening population.
- Prevent further habitat clearance.
