Description

Shrub to 5 m, with bark peeling in long strips. Leaves 10 - 15 mm x 1 - 2 mm. Flowers solitary, 8 - 10 mm diam, white.

Distribution

Occurs in Hornsby, Warringah, Ku-ring-gai and Ryde LGAs.

Habitat and ecology

Woodland on lower hill slopes or near creeks. Sandy alluvial soil or sand over sandstone.
Occurs in Riparian Scrub - e.g. Tristaniopsis laurina, Baechea myrtifolia; Woodland - e.g. Eucalyptus haemstoma; and Open Forest - e.g. Angophora costata, Leptospermum trinervium, Banksia ericifolia.
Flowers October-November.
Probably killed by fire.

Limited distribution so open to stochastic events.
Vulnerable to invasion by exotic weeds.
Species' habitat / substrate is susceptible to erosion due to run-off from urban areas surrounding habitat
Without appropriate burn frequency (7-15 years) the species is susceptible to competition from encroaching riparian vegetation.
Clearing for residential development and densification of housing.
Due the species' cryptic nature, it is likely that its distribution / area of occupancy has not been accurately assessed.
