Description

A shrub to 2m high. Leaves are solitary at each node, and are linear to linear-lance-shaped, with smooth margins. The white flowers are up to 5mm across.

Distribution

Found in western Wollemi National Park east of Kandos and retricted to a roughly triangular area 5km across.

Habitat and ecology

  • Known from several locations in Wollemi National Park, immediately south of Dunns Swamp.
  • Occurs in heathland on skeletal, infertile sandstone-derived soils, normally in association with pagodas.
  • Associated with Leptospermum parvifolium, L. arachnoides, Grevillea evansiana, Callitris endlicheri, C. rhomboidea, Persoonia linearis, P. myrtilloides, Prostanthera hindii, Leucopogon muticus, L. microphyllus, Ochrosperma oligomerum, Epacris reclinata and Dracophyllum secundum.
  • At different locations, Baeckea kandos also occurs with another TSC Act listed endangered species, Pultenaea sp. 'Olinda'; and two vulnerable species Grevillea evansiana and Leionema sympetalum.
