Description

This is an erect or slightly weeping shrub 1 – 2.5 m tall. The many small branches spread widely, giving the shrub an angular appearance. The stems and branches are grey and strongly fissured. The tiny, 4 mm long leaves have prominent oil-glands on the underside and are crowded along the branchlets. Flowers are produced in summer and are white with five round petals. The fruit is small, woody and hemispherical.

Distribution

A NSW endemic that is known from only two locations: Nymboida and Moses Rock (Nymboi-Binderay National Park).

Habitat and ecology

  • Dry open forest on rocky ridges and steep rocky slopes with very shallow soils.
  • Associated with species that favour poor soils, such as Large-fruited Blackbutt (Eucalyptus pyrocarpa), Lemon-scented Teatree (Leptospermum petersonii) and Leptospermum microcarpum.
