Threatened species

Priority actions by type of threatened species

The Department of Environment and Conservation has prepared a Priorities Action Statement (PAS) to promote the recovery of threatened species and the abatement of key threatening processes in New South Wales.

The Priorities Action Statement identifies a number of broad strategies to help threatened plants and animals recover in New South Wales. Each of these strategies have more specific priority actions within them.

Select an item from the list below to see priority actions for all species of that type.

Type of species

What type of species or threatening process do the priority actions apply to?

Name of species

Name of species or threatening process that the priority actions apply to.

Only show results for Priority....
There are 1 threatened species in New South Wales matching the above criteria which have current Priority action plans. A total of 15 current Priority actions have been identified to help recover these species.

Undertake targeted surveys for unconfirmed populations of the species, particularly in Barrington. Tylophora woollsii Cryptic Forest Twiner Plant > Epiphytes and Climbers High
Undertake a census of all known forest twiner populations to monitor population sizes, threats and response to disturbance. Tylophora woollsii Cryptic Forest Twiner Plant > Epiphytes and Climbers High
Develop standard survey and assessment guidelines and distribute to all relevant consent authorities. Tylophora woollsii Cryptic Forest Twiner Plant > Epiphytes and Climbers Medium
Liaise with private landholders to convey significance of populations of the Forest Twiner occurring on/or adjacent to their property. Tylophora woollsii Cryptic Forest Twiner Plant > Epiphytes and Climbers Low
All populations of the cryptic forest twiner occurring on roadsides will be marked in the field. Tylophora woollsii Cryptic Forest Twiner Plant > Epiphytes and Climbers High
Integrate weed control works on public lands into regional works programs as appropriate. Tylophora woollsii Cryptic Forest Twiner Plant > Epiphytes and Climbers High
Reserve Fire management Strategy include operational guidelines to protect this species from fire. Tylophora woollsii Cryptic Forest Twiner Plant > Epiphytes and Climbers High
All survey, management and research actions for the forest twiner are to be carried out in a way that minimises the risk of the spread of disease from plant pathogens. Tylophora woollsii Cryptic Forest Twiner Plant > Epiphytes and Climbers High
Undertake morphological investigations to allow for more successful identification of the species. Tylophora woollsii Cryptic Forest Twiner Plant > Epiphytes and Climbers High
Undertake research into aspects of the biology and ecology of the species. Priority research includes species life cycle patterns, habitat requirements and response to disturbance. Tylophora woollsii Cryptic Forest Twiner Plant > Epiphytes and Climbers High
